The Honest Image Rebrand

When Marla Hursig, the owner of The Honest Image, begun her rebrand with the goal of establishing her business as s luxury experience we simply could not wait to dive in!

The Honest Image provides custom image consulting and makeup lessons that leave clients feeling beautiful and confident. Her previous branding wasn’t highlighting the expertise that her business offers her clients. So, with inspiration drawn from luxury beauty brands, meaningful tulips, and hand written notes, we begun the process of crafting a brand that clearly communicated the distinctive beauty experience of The Honest Image.

One of our favorite details from this branding set was the tulip icon which happens to include a subtle pair of lips to pair part of Marla’s upbringing with her beauty skillset.

Growing up, Marla’s Grandpa Kliegel would have rows and rows of colorful tulips blooming beside his house every spring. The photo on the left features Marla and her sister in dresses hand crafted by their mother whose shadow can be viewed in the lower right corner of the photo.

Marla has been educating and providing quality image experiences to her clients for the past 20 years from raising her two boys to now while watching her grandchildren. Her brand needed to feature her family story while highlighting the beauty services she offered. After we sketched about 75 different tulip lip combos, we got it feeling just right and presented The Honest Image icon.

BRAND GUIDE

We created a Brand Guide for Marla with details on how to create and maintain a consistent brand image.

Some of the items included in The Honest Image brand guide include logo hierarchy and best usage practices, typography guidelines, color codes (for printing and on screen consistency, as well as the details for using the brand’s custom backgrounds and borders. As a business owner, you wear many hats but a creative director should not be an additional headpiece! This brand guide allows Marla and her web designer, SEO specialist, social media manger, and beyond keep a consistent brand image in every aspect of The Honest Image.

To alleviate some of the stress of social media posting, we got to design custom Canva templates using the newly established brand guidelines.
